A South Oxhey woman will be battling for the Miss Galaxy Universe crown this weekend.
Gemini Lawton, who lives just off Heysham Drive, will be vying for the Miss Galaxy Universe title at the fitness and beauty competition on Saturday.
This is the second time the 37-year-old has entered the contest and she will be one of about 120 entrants.
Originally a competitor in October, Ms Lawton began training entering shows to help with her crippling confidence.
However, this year’s show will be one of the most nerve-wracking of her fitness career, she said.
Ms Lawton, who works on an IT helpdesk, added: "I said I would never do it again, but once I thought and reflected on it I thought I would work towards it again.
"Now, the closer I get the more unsure I feel about it.
"My body is nowhere near how it looked in October but I will still compete regardless. I’m not in it to win it, I’m in it to overcome a fear and challenge myself, plus meet new people catch up with old friends and have fun along the way."
