A charity golf tournament raised more than £7,000 for special care baby unit at Watford General Hospital.
The tournament, which took place at Aldwickbury Park Golf Club in Harpenden, is part of a series of annual events held by Barratt Homes North London. Each year, a different charity is chosen, and as much money as possible is raised for it.
The Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), the charity selected for 2014, cares for sick and premature babies.
According to Barratt Homes managing director David Knight, the golf tournament raised £7,608 for the charity. This puts the total funds raised so far at £11,218.80.
He adds that further fundraising events across July will likely increase this total.
Madhi Hasan, who took part in the golfing events and chairman of the hospital trust, said: "This donation will make such a difference to the running of the SCBU and helps us to continue to offer the highest levels of support for all patients and their families."
