Police investigating two burglaries in Rickmansworth have released details of property stolen.

Both burglaries occurred on Wednesday, June 4, and are being linked.

Between 4pm and 4.15pm someone smashed a window at the rear of a property in Highfield Way, and stole a number of items including:

• A men’s 24-carat gold chain with an Asian symbol OM pendant (symbol pictured)
• Foreign currency
• Two women’s Indian gold and white gold bangles
• A woman’s gold-plated pendant hoop with Swarovski crystals and a four-leaf clover
• A man’s watch with brown strap, face and steel casing.

Between 4.15pm and 5.50pm a property in Berry Lane was targeted. The front door was forced open and a number of items werestolen, including:

• Cash
• A 22-carat diamond and gold necklace
• A 22-carat diamond and gold earring (pictured), which matches the necklace
• A 22-carat diamond bracelet
• A 22-carat gold bangle, which has a clasp and in its centre is a two inch wide oval section with several small diamonds and red and green stones set in the centre.

Detective constable Jon Oke is investigating and said: "The jewellery stolen is of huge sentimental value to the victims of these burglaries and is quite distinctive. I would ask anyone who has been offered any of these items for sale, or knows of their whereabouts, to contact me immediately.

"Equally, I would ask that anyone who remembers hearing or seeing anything unusual or suspicious around the stated times of either burglary to contact me. A detail that you may believe to be insignificant could be vitally important to the investigation."

Anyone with any information in relation to either of these burglaries is asked to contact DC Oke via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, citing crime reference C2/14/1126 (for the Highfield Way incident) or C2/14/1125 (for the Berry Lane incident).
