Come and join the party! We had so much fun at last year’s Watford Observer Family Fun Day that we’ve decided to do it all over again.

There will be lots for the whole family to do including mini funfair rides, a soft play area, craft stalls, bouncy castles, classic cars, Lindy hop, bollywood and Irish dance shows, morris dancing, music, a barbecue, a beer tent and tea tent, a beat the goalie penalty shoot out competition, and a raffle with some fantastic prizes including a family trip to Pontins, a spa break at Champneys, tickets to Watford FC and lots more.

Don’t forget to visit the Watford Observer tent – any child who enters the tent dressed as a princess or a pirate will get a free lolly!

The highlight of the day will be the charity football match between the Arsenal Legends and the Watford Football Club OFPA (Official Former Players’ Association).

The Arsenal team is made up of former pros from the Gunners and a collection of stars from television, music and other sports, including Spandau Ballet’s Tony Hadley, EastEnders' Sam Attwater, Ralf Little from The Royle Family, Ground Force’s Tommy Walsh, Patrick Robinson from Casualty, and Phil Daniels of Quadrophenia and EastEnders fame.

Watford stars who will be dusting off their boots again include Gavin Mahon, Andy Hessenthaler and Steve Sherwood.

All the money raised will go to our chosen charity, Signpost, which provides confidential counselling, coaching and other support to troubled ten- to 25-year-olds in Watford and south west Hertfordshire.

We will also be holding an exciting Face in the Crowd competition – if you spot yourself circled in one of our photos in the Watford Observer on Friday, July 11, you could win a cash prize of £100 if you bring a copy of the newspaper in to our offices in Watford Business Park. See that week’s paper for full details.
