Hornets legend Luther Blissett has been forced to pull out of a charity football match being held as the centre-piece of the Watford Observer’s second fun day on Sunday.

Despite Blissett’s absence there will be plenty of talent on show as Watford FC OFPA (Official Former Players’ Association) take on the Arsenal Legends.

Among those lining up for Watford will be familiar names such as Steve Terry, Allan Smart, Neil Price, Andy Hessenthaler and Gavin Mahon while the Arsenal side will feature a host of ex-pros from the Gunners and a collection of stars from TV, music and other sports.

The game kicks off at 1.30pm but the family fun at Bushey Sports Club in Aldenham Road, Bushey, starts at 11.30am. The day will feature funfair rides, a car show, penalty shoot-out competition, displays of Irish, clog morris and Indian dancing, barbecue, bar and raffle.

The event will raise money for the Observer’s chosen charity for the year, Signpost, which provides, advice, comfort and a friendly ear, to troubled young people living in south west Hertfordshire.
