Luther Blissett sends his best ahead of Watford FC legends match at Watford Observer funday

Watford Observer: Luther Blissett Luther Blissett

Hornets legend Luther Blissett has sent his best wishes to the Watford Observer for the newspaper’s funday and charity football match on Sunday.

The charity day, which is raising money for Singpost the youth counselling charity, will feature a special challenge football match between the Arsenal Legends, made up of former Gunners and celebrity fans, and Watford OFPA (Official Former Players Association) Legends.

It was reported on Friday last week that Luther would play in the challenge match but it seems a clerical slip at the Watford OFPA meant he was added to the day’s squad list in error.

A spokesman for the OFPA said:  "The OFPA apologises for the misunderstanding that led to Luther being added to a squad list that was sent to the newspaper for publication, despite him not being available for the event."

Luther has sent his good wishes to all involved. He said: "I am really sorry I can’t be there to join the boys - and want to wish everybody a great day.  Congratulations also to the Watford Observer on more than 150 years of great writing for the local community!"
