Leavesden residents have been warned they may hear gunshots ringing out as part of filming taking place between now and mid-October.

Warner Bros. Studios said that gun fire tests will be carried out over the coming months.

The gun fire will include single shot and multiple shot effects on the studio backlot during working hours from Monday to Friday.

The studios have issued a residents notification letter, stating that they are unable to be more specific with the dates as test are "sporadic and on an ad-hoc basis".

Production teams are also planning to film at night on the backlot in early September.
