Watford businesses offered on-the-spot jobs to people in what has been hailed the town's "best jobs fair yet"

More than 5,000 people attended the fourth Watford Jobs Fair on June 26.

A number of firms including Direct Save Telecom, in Carpenders Park, offered five jobseekers start dates at the fair itself, and have 15 further interviews and 25 telephone interviews booked in.

Freedom Communications, Herts Catering, Brighthouse and Direct Save Telecom all held interviews on the day, with a number of candidates being offered jobs on the spot or offered a second interview.

Pizza Hut’s Watford branches took contact details for just over 200 people they were keen to discuss positions further with.

Richard Harrington, Watford MP, said: "The real success of the jobs fair isn’t just the volume of people coming, it is what the actual outcomes are - people walking away on the day with jobs and start dates - that is the success of the fair, so this is great news. This fair was the best yet and there was a real buzz in the room."
