Motorists faced gridlock this morning after power was lost to traffic lights at a main central Watford junction.

Power failed at lights in St Albans Road, at the junction with Station Road, leading to commuters facing long delays during rush hour .

Hertfordshire Highways have not yet confirmed when the fault will be fixed.
