School children enjoyed a mini Olympics event designed to improve their French language skills at a school in Bushey.
Nearly 60 year five and six students from local primary schools took part in the competition at Bushey Meads School on Tuesday.
The event was the grand finale of a year of activities organised by the Bushey and Watford Strategic Learning Network for Modern Foreign Lanugages.
The mini-olympians, from Ashfield, The Grove Academy, Highwood, Knutsford and Little Reddings, competed in six ‘events’ which combined use of French with physical activity.
The event concluded with the children putting their language skills to use once more by ordering an ice cream in French.
This year Ashfield School in Bushey won the coveted gold medals.
