School children from Watford will be performing in The Parade tomorrow as part The Big Dance.

The second event in the Watford Big Events series involves two free public performances featuring more than 80 dancers including children from Central and Colnbrook primaries.

Performances are scheduled for 1pm and 3pm, with a finale that will also see the Ginger Bread Man being chased down The Parade.

Mayor Dorothy Thornhill said: "I’m absolutely thrilled that The Parade is being used for such a creative and exciting event. Big Dance: Once Upon a Time in Watford will celebrate and showcase local talent, and it promises to be great entertainment for those watching."

Joining the school children will be dancers from Funky feet, a community dance group from north Watford, New Connections, a weekly dance group for the over fifties based at the Watford Museum, and InPulse, a Hertfordshire youth dance company.

Set design has been created by two local art organisations DRUM (Disability Recreation Movement) and Pumpkin Crafts.

The Big Event series is a series of cultural events hosted by Watford Borough Council, more information can be found at:
