The On the Run Scooter Club, based in Watford, raised more than £1,500 for local charity DRUM (Disability Recreation Unity Movement) at their charity scooter day attended by hundreds of people at Croxley Guild Sports & Social Club on Sunday.

There were vintage scooters on display, scooter games including "scooter darts", stalls selling vintage bags, clothing and homemade cakes.

The club kicked of the event with a scooter ride from the Dome roundabout to Croxley Green in the morning.

Live music was provided by local bands The Involved, Milner and The Spitfires.

The sports and social club also donated another £100 making the total raised £1,651.22.

DRUM provides day services and support to adults with physical and/or sensory disabilities and their carers living in south west Hertfordshire.

Services include activities in art, creative crafts, ceramics, drama, creative writing, Tai Chi and yoga. They also organise many social and leisure events.

The charity, which receives some funding from Hertfordshire County Council, has to raise at least £50,000 a year themselves.

DRUM is a user-led group, run by the disabled members and is the only day service of its kind in Watford and the surrounding areas.
