Floral tributes, teddy bears and letters of condolence have been left at the side of the South Oxhey road where six-year-old Lara Fernandes-Pontes died on Sunday.
Lara died after being hit by a car in Hayling Road at about 3pm.
The South Oxhey community has come out in force to offer their condolences and pay tribute to the young girl.
One message, which was attached to a teddy bear, read: "Too sad for words. RIP Lara x".
Flowers and children's toys surround the pavement near where the accident, involving a Land Rover Discovery, took place.
There are also many messages in Portuguese left at the scene.
