Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) young people are invited to attend a new youth group based in Watford called Young Pride in Herts.

Hosted by local sexual health charity Herts Aid, the group will meet every Thursday evening in central Watford.

There are two group sessions, one aimed at those aged 13 - 15 and one aimed at 16 - 21 year olds.

The group gives LGBT young people the opportunity to socialise, have fun and find support in a safe and welcoming environment. Those who are questioning their sexuality are also very welcome.

There will be a variety of activities on offer over the summer, including preparing for Hertfordshire Pride in August. Young people can also use the group to seek advice on any issues to do with their sexuality or sexual health.

Tony Skeate, who runs the group said: "Some LGBT young people feel quite isolated, so this group is an opportunity for them to meet new people and socialise in an environment where they can relax and be themselves.

"If you’re interested in attending the group, or just want to find out more at this stage, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. The more the merrier."

To preserve the anonymity of those attending, the location of the group isn’t advertised.  Those who would like to attend can call Tony on 07435 936 170 or email youngprideinherts@gmail.com to find out more about the group and the venue.
