Planning permission for nine new flats to the back of Market Street in Watford is being sought.

Developers Robkit Enterprises Limiteds want to construct one one-bedroom flat and eight two-bed flats with associated bin store, cycle store and courtyard.

The application seeks to demolish an office building, neighbouring garage and first floor property in Percy Street to make way for the development.

The design of the new complex is specified as being sympathetic to the surrounding buildings and respect the character and setting of the nearby listed buildings at the Holly Rood Church complex.

In addition, the application states that future occupiers of the flats will not be entitled to parking permits for the surrounding controlled parking zones, in a bid to reduce any further demand for on-street parking within the area.

The proposal will be heard by Watford Borough Council development control committee on Thursday, where the committee will discuss the recommendation to grant planning permission.
