Police have released a CCTV image of a man after staff were threatened in a West Watford convenience store.

The incident happened in McColl’s in Tolpits Lane on Sunday July 6 after the man was refused cigarettes over an ID issue, which provoked a dispute.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said the suspect then left the shop again, before again returning and allegedly threatened staff at the shop.

PC Peacock, who is investigating, said: "No-one should have to be subject to abuse and threats in their place of work. We would like to speak to the man pictured as he may have witnessed the incident or have information that could assist our investigation.

"Anyone who believes they know the pictured man’s identity should contact me immediately via the non-emergency number 101, citing crime reference C1/14/3077. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111."
