  • "Who is likely to mis-lead the decision makers to get a result favourable to them, the FTA group or the development partners? I'm a great fan of Columbo, and when looking for a motive he would often quote All The President's Men; "Follow the money." Cui bono?
Allotment holders have been offered alternative sites - they stand to gain relatively little if they win. They maintain the status quo. They stand to lose a few years cultivation and have to travel to the alternative site.
The trust partners, on the other hand, stand to gain in excess of £20m.

Any submission made, any argument presented, by the council and by Kier and even by the Trust, must be 100% watertight and beyond reproach. There must be no shadiness or ambiguity in the figures. Were they expecting their plans to be gone over with a fine-toothed comb by anyone? Do they expect their residents, citizens, council-tax payers to be idiots, unable to put two and two together? Do they treat their electorate with contempt when they behave like that?"
