Hundreds of residents have joined the campaign to save a South Oxhey bus service which could be axed under new county council proposals.
More than 500 people signed the petition, created by the Three Rivers Labour group, to keep the 503 service, which runs from South Oxhey to Hemel Hempstead via Watford.
Labour politicians were in the precinct on Saturday between 10am and 12.30pm collecting signatures against the proposed cuts.
Councillor Joan King, Labour representative for South Oxhey, said: "People often think of the rural areas when it comes to buses, but it's not only rural areas it's affecting.
"A lot of older people who don't drive on the estate will be affected. And even if you do drive a car, you never know when you might need a bus.
"We will argue the point and keep fighting."
