Several women from Chipperfield and Kings Langley will be completing a unique charity challenge to raise money for a hospice.

Karen Silverton from Kings Close in Chipperfield and Kate Chadwick from Kings Langley will be participating in The Hospice of St Francis’ Mud Pack Challenge on Sunday, October 19.

Participants will jump, crawl, climb and slide as they face wet and muddy obstacles in the gardens, woods and parkland of Champneys, The Health Spa in Tring.

Karen, who will be completing the challenge with two other mums from St Paul’s Church of England VA Primary School said: "I'm a runner already and I like doing crazy events as well as normal traditional races. It just mixes it up a bit and makes it fun. I’m hoping a few more people might join our team - I’m still trying to convince them.

"I have known a few people using the services of a hospice and I think they do amazing work in the final days and weeks of someone's life. I would always support this fantastic charity as it brings peace to not only the person using the facilities but also to the families."

Kate Chadwick will also be completing the challenge with coaches and supporters from the City of St Albans Swimming Club (CostA).

Kate added: "It’s going to be a great team building and bonding event for us. The coaches are often at different pools, or teaching at different times, so this will give us the chance to do something fun together, whilst working in partnership to help each other through."
