A candlelight vigil to commemorate the start of the World War One will be held tomorrow in Kings Langley.

The service will begin at Kings Langley War Memorial at 9pm and has been organised by two research teams who have been researching their village’s involvement in World War One.

The service is being led by reverend Matthew Cooper and villagers will hear readings of World War One poetry, including "In Flanders Field" by John McCrae.

Julie Barton, team leader for the research project in Kings Langley said: "I think it will be an emotional event.

"There are a few tear jerking moments."

Kings Langley Community Choir will also be performing at the event.

Teams from the "Back to the Front Project", based in Abbots Langley and Kings Langley are creating profiles of the servicemen and women who thought in the war.
