Police and firefighters raced to a car on fire in a Watford road in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A fire crew from Watford station tackled the blaze in Chester Road shortly before 3am for nearly an hour.
Simon Hoggett, a spokesman for Hertfordshire Fire, said: "We were called at 2.53am to Chester Road. A car was on fire in the roadway.
"One engine from Watford attended. One hose reel and breathing apparatus was used and the stop message came in a 3.38am.
"Police were made aware of it, the fire has been listed as accidental."
