A Rickmansworth post office has received the stamp of approval to open seven days a week.

The Tudor Parade Post Office, in McColls, will close on Monday, August 18 at 5.30pm so it can be refurbished.

The retail store will remain open and there are alternative services in Rickmansworth High Street and Lower Road, in Chorleywood.

The new-look post office will open on Friday, August 22 at 1pm and will extend its opening times to seven days a week - providing 39 hours more service a week.

A number of other convenient services will also be introduce, such as special delivery, local collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits, withdrawals and sending funds abroad using Moneygram.

Customers will also be able to pay bills, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.
