Students across south west Hertfordshire are finding out this morning how they did in their A-level exams.
For some the day will begin with delight, for others, tears of disappointment as the results they receive today could shape the rest of their lives.
Their places at university and college will depend on the results the 18 year-olds receive today.
They have spent the last two years working towards the A-level exams in three or four chosen subjects, which they sat between April and June.
