A man in 70s has died after falling ill at a house in Abbots Langley.

Hertfordshire Constabulary and the East of England Ambulance Service were called around 10.25 this morning after reports that a man in his 70s had fallen ill.

However, the man was pronounced dead the scene.

Charlotte Parker, media officer at East of England Ambulance Service, said: "We were called at 10.25am this morning to an address on Greenways. An ambulance and rapid response vehicle attended but unfortunately the man, who was believed to be in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene."

Giles Cooper, press and pr officer at Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "We received a call at an address in the Greenways at 10.27 this morning from the ambulance service following reports that a person had been taken ill. 

"Sadly someone had passed away."

A report on the mans death is being passed on to the coroners office.
