A pet cat has been "shot" twice and found beheaded by the owners in the back garden of their north Watford home.
Police are looking into the incident after the owners returned home yesterday at 1pm to find their cat with its head detached in their garden in Westfield Avenue.
The owners took the pet to their vet, who also noticed two puncture wounds he thought could be shot wounds.
The vet determined the cat's injuries did not appear to have been caused by an animal.
Hertfordhshire Constabulary confirmed they are investigating the incident.
