Six people are due to face trial after - including a husband, wife and two sons – on kidnap and false imprisonment charges in connection with two missing people found at a taxi company at Watford Junction station in May.

On Friday defendants appeared at St Albans Crown Court to enter pleas.

Hamzah Chaudry, 26, pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to kidnap, two charges of false imprisonment and two charges of assault causing actual bodily harm.

His father Khalid, 52, also denied conspiracy to kidnap and two charges of false imprisonment.

Khalid’s wife Rubina, 45, denied two charges of false imprisonment and one charge of assault causing actual bodily harm.

The trio, of Albert Road North, Watford, were remanded into custody.

A fourth member of the same family, Mohammad Waqas Chaudry, 20, also of Albert Road North, entered a plea of not guilty to conspiracy to kidnap. He was granted bail.

Two other men also entered not guilty pleas in relation to the case. Yaser Ahmed, 30, of Charlock Way, denied conspiracy to kidnap, two charges of false imprisonment and one charge of assault causing actual bodily harm. He was remanded into custody.

Arfan Hussain Shah, 38, Paddock Close, denied conspiracy to kidnap, two charges of false imprisonment and one charge of assault causing actual bodily harm. He was also remanded into custody.

The charges comes after police found a missing man and woman at the building of a taxi company based in Watford Junction station on May 14.

The defendants will appear in court again on October 31 for a pre-trail hearing, with the full three-week trial scheduled to begin on November 10.
