Police are searching for two witnesses who saw a man get pick-pocketed in the Meriden Estate.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said the victim, who is in his 40s, was approached by two teenage boys outside the parade of shops in The Gossamers at around 2pm on Thursday, August 14.

Money was then removed from his pockets without him realising.

Two men witnessed the incident and informed the victim but they did not leave any contact information. Officers are keen to make contact with these men.

PC Geoff Smith: "Thankfully the man wasn’t harmed during this incident but has been left distressed by what happened.

"I would like to speak to the two men who witnessed the theft urgently as they will be able to assist me with the investigation. Equally, I would like to speak to anyone else who may have seen the theft or two teenagers prior to or after the incident in the area."

Anyone with any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact PC Smith via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference C4/14/1698. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The local youth outside the shops are a nuisance but something seems odd about this story, being pests with a football, giving cheek, smooking, getting idiots to buy them fags and generally loitering yer; but Pick pocketing???

The teenage youths at the shops are harmless because there in a group everybody just pressumes they are trouble makers.might i add that these same teenagers who loiter about at the shops actually stopped a 3 yr old little boy from seriously hurting himself if he had run out into the rd.they stayed with the little boy at the shops who was without any parents.and wen no parents came after about 20 mins they still stayed with the boy and rang the police.anything could of happened to that little boy if it wernt for them!!! As for pick pocketing i dont think so there is definately more to this story than people think !!!!!!
