Police are searching for two witnesses who saw a man get pick-pocketed in the Meriden Estate.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said the victim, who is in his 40s, was approached by two teenage boys outside the parade of shops in The Gossamers at around 2pm on Thursday, August 14.

Money was then removed from his pockets without him realising.

Two men witnessed the incident and informed the victim but they did not leave any contact information. Officers are keen to make contact with these men.

PC Geoff Smith: "Thankfully the man wasn’t harmed during this incident but has been left distressed by what happened.

"I would like to speak to the two men who witnessed the theft urgently as they will be able to assist me with the investigation. Equally, I would like to speak to anyone else who may have seen the theft or two teenagers prior to or after the incident in the area."

Anyone with any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact PC Smith via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference C4/14/1698. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
