This year’s Unsigned and Unplugged music festival will be held at Bushey Rose Garden at the end of the month.

Up and coming musicians will be entertaining the crowds in the award-winning garden on Sunday, August 31, in the second ever Unsigned and Unplugged event.

Last year’s first Unsigned and Unplugged event was a declared a huge success by organisers, the Motivate4 Events Team from Hertsmere Leisure and Papermouth Promotions.

Now they are hoping the glorious summer sunshine will attract even more people this year.
The free event takes place from 12 pm to 6pm.

Among the acts will be Emmanuel Ademolu, Nancy Okai and Sophie Ray.

Rob Dodkin, Hertsmere Leisure’s Operations and Events manager, said: "There is a large number of hugely talented singers, musicians and bands in the Bushey area and this free event gives them a chance to showcase their material in the stunning surroundings of Bushey Rose Garden."

Alternative soul singer Sophie, 24, has been performing for many years but gigging with her own material for two years.

The classically trained singer said: "We have such great local music scene in our area and it is an absolute pleasure to be a part of. I love getting involved with events like Unsigned and Unplugged, because it’s a place we can all share and enjoy each other’s music, listening to people that we’ve come to know and love, but also discovering new talent."

Councillor Jean Heywood, portfolio holder for Environment and Transport, said: "It’s great news that this event is returning to the beautiful Bushey Rose Garden for another year to showcase some talented local artists. I hope local residents will turn out in force to support this event."
