A 15-year-old boy, also from Watford, has been charged with affray in connection with investigation.

He has been bailed to appear before St Alban’s Youth Court on September 10.

The charges come after Aqeel, 18, was found collapsed in Croxley View on Friday afternoon. He was rushed to Watford General Hospital but died shortly after.

Detective Inspector Jon McAdam said: “Our thoughts are with Aqeel’s family at this extremely difficult time and they are being supported by specialist officers.

“We have charged a sixteen year-old male with Aqeel’s murder and although we are currently not looking for any other suspects at this time, we are still keen to speak with witnesses to this incident.

“I would urge anyone with any information at all in connection to this incident to come forward and speak to police on 101, or alternatively call Crimestoppers the independent charity in confidence on 0800 555 111.”
