An application to build four five bedroom homes in Radlett has been resubmitted - and one opposing resident has branded the application "ludicrous".
Fusion Residential has submitted the application to Hertsmere Borough Council for the partial demolition of 13 Gills Hill Lane to build four houses with associated access, car parking, garages and landscaping on land at the rear of nine to 13 Gills Hill Lane.
The application was originally refused in April on the grounds of it being an overdevelopment.
Simon Valins, who lives in Gills Hill Lane, said the main concern was for the school children at St John’s Infant school - and the new plan does not address old issues.
The 46-year-old said: "We are very upset that an application for another ‘garden grab’ development has been submitted for this location and the consequences of approving this application would set a dangerous precedent for the future character of Radlett and the negative impacts on the lives of local residents.
"Such a massive development is out of character with the local environment and does not respect the current pattern of development.
"It is clearly a backland development and utterly ludicrous to suggest otherwise.
"We believe this development would cause a dangerous increase in road traffic and a significant safety risk to school children, as the planned access is sited directly opposite the St Johns school entrance.
"There are already two dangerous bends yards from the proposed site and at school drop-off times, one-way traffic is becoming a regular problem as cars park on one side of the road.
"Considering the current antipathy towards backland developments like this, we fully expect the application to be refused."
