For Kwok Man from Croxley Green it is the chance to remember his wife Kath who died at Peace Hospice Care in September 2012 and raise funds to support the Hospice.

Kwok has gathered a team of 15 to 20 people to take part in Push it for the Peace on Saturday, September 20. It is the second time Kwok has signed up for this challenging event in Cassiobury Park, having raised £3,695 at the event last year.

Now in its third year Push it for the Peace aims to be "the biggest, meanest and dirtiest obstacle run" through the park.

Last year more than 850 people took on the five mile cross country route featuring 34 wet and muddy obstacles.

Kwok  has called his squad "Team K" in his wife’s memory and they are hoping to exceed the sum raised last year.

He said: "The K in Team K is for Kath. Kath is our inspiration.  She had adenoid cystic carcinoma, a rare type of cancer that she fought for 19 years with strength and determination.

"She was one of the bravest people most of us will ever know. She lived her life with strength and determination.

"Kath found peace and sanctuary at the hospice. The staff were so lovely to her and to me and did everything they could to help. It was somewhere special where Kath was able to relax and enjoy their treatments.

"As a team we would like to raise money for the hospice to help others to benefit from the fantastic service. We have new members in our team this year so hope to raise even more money.

"Push it has also motivated me to get fit. The fitter you are, the more enjoyable the event."

Kwok’s team will be cheered on by his daughter Isabelle, family and friends and young supporters from Isabelle’s school - Harvey Road Primary in Croxley Green.

Kath’s sisters Elle Wan and Liz Walsh are also taking part and determined to push themselves to the limits, remember Kath and raise funds for Peace Hospice Care.
