A 30-year-old man has been charged with having a dangerous dog after a German Shepherd cross was allegedly mauled on Sunday.

The dog, believed to be a pit bull, was seized by Bushey police from an address in Otterspool Way on Wednesday.

Officers from the Bushey and Radlett Safer Neighbourhood Team and the Tri-Force Dog Unit executed a warrant under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

Ronald Harris, 30, of Otterspool Way, was arrested and charged with having a dangerous dog out of control in a public place and possession of a dangerous dog, contrary to the Dangerous Dogs Act.

He has been bailed until September 12 where he is due before St Albans Magistrates Court.
