Bronze statues worth hundreds of pounds have been stolen from an art gallery in Kings Langley.

Eight bronze "Frogman" statues were stolen from Montague’s Gallery in Kings Langley High Street on Friday, August 22.

Statues from the "Frogman" collection vary in price, with the cheapest available to buy at £179 and the most expensive priced at £1,829.

Hertfordshire Constabulary described the thief as a white man, aged about 40 years old, with short cropped sandy coloured hair. He was wearing a black jacket which had a multi-coloured Adidas logo on the back and dark blue jeans.

PC Neil Hunt said: "When purchasing these frogs the customer is given a certificate from Frogman with the name and edition number of the frog.  The items cannot be easily sold on as people will not buy without these certificates.

"I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the crime or has seen these items since they were stolen."

Officers are asking anyone who has been offered the statues, or has information about the theft to contact them on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference number D1/14/5108. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
