The 40th season of activities for the RSPB Watford Local Group opens on Wednesday 10 September with a talk by Chris Ward. Chris will take us on a journey from Marakesh to Massa to show us the Birds of Morocco. As usual our meeting will be held at the Stanborough Centre, Stanborough Park Church, 609 St Albans Road Watford WD25 9JL starting at 8pm, doors open at 7.30pm. Entrance costs £3, which includes light refreshments. All are welcome.

Chris, a regular speaker at Watford Group, will show us the exciting and stunning scenery, as well as the birds, of the high Atlas Mountains, the desert and the coast.

Our shared transport trip on Sunday 21 September will be to Cliffe Pools RSPB reserve in Kent, south east of the Thames crossing (OS Ref. TQ722757). Trails and viewpoints overlook the pools and the estuary. There will be ducks and waders a plenty here and possibly butterflies and dragonflies too. Our local John Hurrell walk will be on Tuesday 23 September at Stockers Lake, meeting at the Rickmansworth Aquadrome Car Park at 10 am (OS Ref. TQ055938). We expect to see late summer migrants and ducks.
