Officers called to intu Watford after suspicion is aroused over abandoned bag
Police were called to the intu Watford shopping centre this morning after staff were suspicious of a bag left on a bench.
Emergency services attended at around 10.30am after concerned staff raised the alarm.
Sarah Spence, spokeswoman for Hertfordshire Constabulary, said: "Someone came across a bag with something inside they were concerned about.
"We attended the Queens Road location at around 10.30am after a member of staff contacted us.
"We made some enquiries and it turned out to be an empty box in the bag on a bench."
