The Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes, Watford Lodge, opened its doors to the public for the first time in 120 years.

The order's gavels, indicator boards and lodge regalia were on display to the public, and a number of fundraising events undertaken.

Brother Mark Hardy had his head shaved for the lodge's chosen charity, the Pepper Foundation, having grown it for three years knowing he would chop it for a good cause.

People took turns to take charge of the scissors to cut a little bit off, making a donation into the bucket for the pleasure.

The total raised on the night was just shy of £400.

Brother Den Whittenbury said it was a fantastic achievement.

He said: "It also enlightened members of the public about what we do. We are not a secret society, but a benevolent organisation that has been strong since 1822."

The members of the lodge have offered a big thank you to all the staff and customers of the Tudor Arms for all their help and generosity with their open day.

Brother Dan added the lodge is looking for new members. Anyone with a little time on their hands, who would like to help others and wants a bit of fin is invited to get in touch.

They have lodges across the world and members can attend any of them.
