South west Hertfordshire's clinical commissioning group is inviting people to take part in a discussion on urgent care across the region.

The event will be held on Thursday, September 18, from 9.30am at The Metropolitan Police Sports Club, Aldenham Road, Bushey.

Lunch is provided and there is free parking at the venue.

Local urgent care services might deal with a deep cut that won’t stop bleeding, a suspected broken bone, a bang to the head or a painful burn.

Dr Keith Hodge, GP and the clinical lead for urgent care at Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group, said: " It takes a whole range of health and social care organisations working together to make sure that local people get urgent care services when they need them.

"This partnership working is especially important over the winter months - the busiest time of year for health and social care services.

"Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group recognises the importance of partnership working so we have arranged an event for all the organisations involved in providing urgent health and social care services to local people.

"Speakers - including those from our local hospitals, the ambulance service and the GP out of hours service - will explain how planning for this winter started back in the summer as well as taking a look at how our services performed last year.

"We are very keen that local people - the patients, carers and residents who use these services - are part of the event.

"So if you would like to hear more about winter plans for your local urgent health services then we would like to hear from you."

Places are limited and organisers have asked people to please book theirs by contacting Anthony Deitsch on 01442 284036 or emailing Anthony.Deitsch@hertsvalleysccg.nhs.uk
