A special "Then and Now" conference will mark the 60th anniversary of SW Herts Archaeological and Historical Society on Saturday, October 11.

The conference will throw light on archaeology during the past 60 years in Hertfordshire and beyond, including the latest excavations at two important sites - The Manor of the More at Moor Park and Queen Victoria Street in London, both first excavated 60 years ago.

The keynote speaker is Professor Martin Biddle from Oxford University who, as a schoolboy, was a founder member of the society and first excavated Cardinal Wolsey’s palace at The More.

He then returned as a highly regarded archaeologist TV’s Time Team, when they excavated the site in 2012.

Tickets for the event can be bought at Watford Museum in Lower High Street, Watford.
