Kings Langley’s very own Father Christmas, who has donated thousands to charity, is being forced to stop decorating his house in Christmas lights after an accident.

Tony Spicer, 60, is being forced to stop the popular lights extravaganza in Primrose Hill after falling from a roof two years ago.

The father of four and grandfather of three has covered his house in lights for the last twelve years, but is being forced to stop after a letter from the doctor told him that he was likely to lose feeling in his right arm.

While the lights were up throughout December, Tony and his family would dress up in Christmas costumes and would become part of the scene. All the money raised by the event went towards the children and baby unit at Watford General Hospital.

He said: "I am gutted but I am going to have to pack it up.

"It is looking all ready to go. If I did not have my fall, I would have had another ten years in me."

The lights, which have now been sold on, are estimated to be valued around £10,000.
