A care home that supports people with learning disabilities has celebrated its 25th anniversary in Rickmansworth.
The Beacon Way service, which is run by national charity Walsingham, opened its doors in October 1989 and initially supported people with learning disabilities who were being moved out from a long-stay hospital.
Twenty-five years on and Beacon Way continues to support people to have full lives.
To celebrate the milestone, on Saturday Walsingham held a small party for people supported at the service, their family members and support staff.
Walsingham’s Chief Executive Paul Snell was among those to join the party guests of honour were three people who moved into Beacon Way when it first opened - two of whom still live at the service.
Lissa Carroll, Locality Manager at Beacon Way, said: "We really enjoyed commemorating 25 years of supporting people at Beacon Way.
"It was a trip down memory lane as we had lots of ‘now and then’ pictures to show everyone."
