Plans to save a historic Maple Cross barn and turn it into a farming heritage centre have stalled.
Woodoaks Farm announced earlier today that they had "undertaken a review of the proposed Farming Heritage Centre", which would have been on Woodoaks Farm, Denham Way, and decided to withdraw from the project.
Concerns had been raised after plans to build a secondary school on part of the agricultural land emerged in February 2012.
However, Woodoaks Farm confirmed they still want to restore the Black Barn.
In a joint statement, by Woodoaks Farm and Groundwork South, it said: "The conclusion drawn is that the project does not sit on a complementary basis with the aims and priorities of, and the pressures on, the farm business.
"The potential loss of agricultural land for a school site adds to the pressures facing the viability of the farm. The review undertaken has led to renewed priorties."
