People proved their disabilities would not stop them from taking part in sport at a games event.
The Elstree & Borehamwood and Radlett Rotary Clubs helped organise this year’s disability games, at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore.
Hertsmere’s Visually Impaired Club competed against other teams from north London in a range of sports including boccia, table tennis, darts and new age kurling.
Medals were presented by mayors from various boroughs across London, including deputy mayor of Elstree & Borehamwood, Councillor Richard Butler.
All of the members of the Visually Impaired Club said they had had a "wonderful" afternoon.
John Cooper, former headteacher of Monksmead School, in Borehamwood, and Syd Padfield, now chairman of governors of Meryfield School, won silver medals in the team Boccia competition for the club.
David Clout, secretary of the Elstree & Borehamwood Rotary Club, who lives in Radlett, said: "We Rotarians got a thrill out of seeing the people enjoying themselves and helpers and competitors had a great afternoon.
"We hope we might have additional teams of disabled people from our patch taking part in 2015."
