Students from West Herts College have this week been involved in a national initiative designed to link the young people with digital professionals.

Schools and colleges up and down the country had the opportunity to partner a digital agency for the day, offering their students the chance to work to live briefs and find out more about the rapidly growing industry.

BIMA is the national trade association for the digital industry and first launched the Digital Day project last year.

Sixty four students from West Herts took part in BIMA Digital Day, partnering with international digital marketing agency ThinkJam - who count work on The Great Gatsby, The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, Girls and Big Bang Theory among their impressive portfolio.

The day was aimed at students aged 18 and under, but keeping in with the digital theme the day’s events were tweeted live by student Holly Alderson.

Holly, who is studying for a Foundation degree in Graphic Design said: "It's a fantastic and rare opportunity to work on alongside such a brilliant agency and on such interesting projects too.

"It’s also a great chance to find out more about an exciting industry that is changing all the time."
