Banksy 'Watford arrest' a hoax
The identity of graffiti artist and political activist Banksy remains safely undercover following reports he had been arrested in Watford.
An American website claimed the elusive street artist had been arrested in Watford and unmasked by the Metropolitan Police.
The National Report also ran a photo ‘issued by police’ of a man it claimed was Banksy – sparking a frenzy on social media websites.
But the Watford Observer can confirm the ‘arrest’ did not happen.
