The Meadow Wood School in Bushey has been awarded a gong in the Creative Hertfordshire Flame Awards.
It took the inaugural Outstanding Contribution to the Arts by a School in the flame awards sponsored by Herts for Learning.
The judges were looking at the investment and development schools had made to the arts. They looked at what the schools had achieved in the last year and the impact it had.
Headteacher of the school, Liz Stratton, said: "We are proud to have won the award.
"It is a real credit to the staff and children at Meadow Wood, who have worked with a number of arts organisations in the last year.
"Our children have a variety of disabilities and working with the arts in one way they can expand their access to learning."
