STAFF at Abbots Langley After School Club have been praised by schools watchdog Ofsted folowing their latest inspection.

The Ofsted report stated that qualified staff have developed strong bonds with the children and understand how children learn through well-planned, good quality play experiences.

Staff were also believed to have a good understanding of safeguarding issues and support children in writing the rules of the club so they are fully aware of what is expected of them.

As a result, children learn to take responsibility and their behaviour is good.

Ofsted noted the school was not yet outstanding because opportunities to extend children's independence are not fully prompted, for example, by taking responsibility for peeling fruit, pouring drinks and helping to clear away at the end of snack time.

Holly Elsworth who runs the after school club said: "I am absolutely thrilled with our Ofsted inspection report.

"I feel that the comments reflect the hard work put in by our staff and I am pleased to be able to share the report with our club users and prospective customers."
