A man sustained serious head injuries during an assault in Garston.

The 18-year-old was walking with friends between Garston Park Parade and Felden Close at 1.30am on October 19 when he was attacked by a man, police said. 

The man - who then ran off towards Garston train station - is described as white, about 5ft 9ins tall of heavy build with shaved hair. He is said to be in his mid-twenties to mid-thirties. 

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to serious head injuries but he has subsequently released from care.
