A Wycombe charity that suuports young adults with disabilities has been re-launched.

Achieving Strong Aims (ASA) held the re-launch event on Saturday, October 11 at Adams Park, attracting more than 110 people.

ASA is a voluntary group that supports those 18 years old and above with disabilities.

The group organises monthly seminars on a range of topics, ranging from cooking to IT skills.

Day trips are also organised every few months for its members, with the aim being to raise awareness of different disabilities in society.

The event began at 7.30pm and finished at about midnight. It was funded by The Big Lottery Fund and vInspired.

Organiser, Asa Marshal, said she was able to arrange some wonderful performers for the night’s entertainment.

Pandemonium Drummers, who performed at the opening of the London 2012 Olympic Games, kicked off the night’s entertainment.

Contortionist, Pixie Le Knot, aerialist, Mel Stevens and illusionist, Michael Vincent also performed at the re-launch.

There was a range of dance groups at the event, including Taste of Brasil and Vasda Punjab.

Five people with disabilities spoke about their life stories, their daily struggles and the challenges they face.

Following the launch, Asa said she will begin the group’s monthly meetings and informal seminars from this month and is planning a day trip to Winter Wonderland, in Hyde Park, in December, for members.
