Images have been released of the ten most wanted burglars in South East England.

The men police are looking for, pictured from left to right, top line then bottom line, are:

  • Simon Knights, 38 – wanted for questioning about seven burglaries in Sussex, an attempted burglary in Sussex, three burglaries in Hampshire and one in each of Kent and Essex since June 12. A £2,500 reward is being offered for information that leads to his arrest and conviction for at least one of the offences.

  • Convicted burglar Simon Bercowitz – wanted for recall to prison for breaching the terms of his licence after he was released partway through a five-and-a-half-year sentence for a series of break-ins in Hampshire. Police said the 64-year-old, of Marine Parade, Brighton, could be committing further offences.

  • Billy Foster, 20, of no fixed address – wanted on suspicion of two burglaries in Smallfield, Surrey, on April 6 during which £15,000 was stolen. He is also wanted on warrant for failing to answer bail after he was arrested on suspicion of theft.

  • David Powell – wanted in connection with three burglaries in the Gravesend area between February 25 and 27. Powell is 26 and has connections with the Gravesend area and London.

  • Patrick Doran, 39 – police want to speak to him about a burglary in Lennox Road, Gravesend, on September 16. Doran has connections throughout Kent and also in the Northampton area.

  • Felipe Teixeira – wanted for questioning over a series of offences in Crawley. Officers want to speak to him about burglaries in Curteys Walk, Cowfold Close and Windsor Close in Crawley in July and August this year.

Members of the public are being urged to keep an eye out for the men and to call 999 if they see any of them.

Residents are also being asked to report anyone acting suspiciously in their area or vehicles that are seen being parked or driven at unusual times of the day or in roads they are not normally seen in.

Detective Chief Inspector Ian Williams said: “We urgently need the public's help to track down and arrest each of these men.

“We believe they could have been involved in a number of burglaries and we need to speak to them as soon as possible.

“If you see any of them, or know where they have been or could be, please contact us immediately.

“What you see and report to us could prevent you or one of your neighbours becoming a victim of burglary.”

If you have any information about burglaries or shops selling stolen goods, call 101. If you see or hear a burglary taking place, call 999 immediately.

Residents can register their items on the world's largest property database so that, if they are stolen, they can be reunited with the owners and the offenders can be prosecuted.
