Christmas has come early for members of the Watford based 70s band Sid Sideboard and the Chairs.
The band enjoyed a wave of success after forming in 1977, including a Top 75 single, filmed the music video for their new single “Santa Left Me” at Hunton Bridge.
Before this year, Bob Gill (vocals), Colin Elsworth (bass), Spike Webb (drums), Jay “Tex” Bart (lead guitar) and Rick “Lightning” Baker (rhythm guitar) had not performed together for 30 years.
But after a positive reception at their reunion gig in July at The Horns in Hempstead Road, and the whole group agreeing to release a song through small record label Goldstone Records, the band arranged with local film director George Day to develop the band's Dickensian Christmas-themed music video to go with the single.
Exterior shots were filmed at hunter’s Lodge bar and restaurant, with the help of a snow machine while interior shots were filmed there and just around the corner at Harry’s Bar.
